1-1/2 lbs turkey, ground
1-1/2 Tbsp beef broth
1-1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 tsp black pepper
2-1/4 tsp dried parsley
1-1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
1-1/2 Tbsp onion powder
1-1/2 Tbsp dried basil
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp ground fennel seed
1/4 tsp brown sugar
1/8 tsp dried oregano
1/8 tsp dried thyme
Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Refrigerate at least 2 hours to allow spices to meld with meat.
Test spices: form a walnut-sized amount into a patty. Cook, cool, and taste. Adjust spices, if needed.
Divide mix into 8 equal servings. Cook, or freeze to use later.
Stove top: heat pan over medium-high heat. Sear patties until dark brown (not burnt). Reduce heat. Cook 4 to 6 minutes per side or until center is no longer pink.
Oven: preheat to 400°F. Bake for 20 minutes, flipping at 10 minutes, until internal temp is 165° or center is no longer pink.
Quickest method: sear patties then finish in the oven.
