Ingredients

  • 2 cups balsamic vinegar (good quality)

  • 2 Tbsp honey (optional)


Directions

  1. Add balsamic vinegar and honey (if using) to a saucepan or small pot over medium heat. Stir.

  2. Once vinegar begins to slowly boil, reduce heat. You want the liquid to simmer over low heat in order to reduce. Stir occasionally.

  3. If you are not using honey, the reduction process should take about 20 minutes. If you are using honey, it should take 8-15 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat once vinegar has reduced down to a thick liquid that covers the back of a spoon when dipped.

  5. Let cool (it should thicken a little more while cooling), then refrigerate in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks.

    When reducing balsamic vinegar down it will naturally sweeten. You can decide if you want to add the honey for a slightly sweeter glaze
