Grilled Caprese Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 3-oz tenderloin steaks

  • Sea salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 Roma tomato, cut into 4 slices

  • 4 fresh basil leaves

  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into 2 pieces

  • Drizzle of balsamic vinegar


Directions

  1. Heat grill to medium-high heat. Season steaks with salt and pepper. Place on grill and close lid. Cook for about 5 minutes.

  2. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes.

  3. Top each steak with 2 slices tomato, 2 basil leaves, and 1 slice mozzarella. Serve as is or reduce heat to low and and grill for 3 -5 minutes to melt cheese over ingredients.

  4. Let cool for 5 minutes and then drizzle with balsamic vinegar before serving.
