Ingredients

  • 1-1/8 tsp active dry yeast (half of a .25 oz packet)

  • 1/2 cup warm water

  • 1-1/8 cups whole wheat flour

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 cup tomato sauce

  • 2 cups mozzarella

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes

  • 1 cup spinach


Directions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand for about 10 minutes.

  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and all seasonings. Make a well in the middle and add yeast mixture. Mix well.

  3. Cover and set in a warm place to rise for 20 to 60 minutes or until dough has doubled in size.

  4. Preheat oven to 450°F. Prepare any vegetable or protein toppings. Set aside.

  5. Roll dough onto a floured pizza pan. Poke a few holes in it with a fork to prevent air bubbles.

  6. Spread tomato sauce evenly over dough. Bake 5-10 minutes depending on preferred crispness.

  7. Remove from oven. Top with mozzarella, tomatoes, and spinach. Return to oven. Cook until the cheese has melted and is slightly browned.

  8. Remove from oven. Let cool slightly, then cut into 4 slices.
