1/2 cup black beans, rinsed, drained, and patted dry
1/2 cup cooked brown rice (measure after cooking)
1 cup shredded mozzarella
1 egg
Italian seasoning to taste
Sea salt and pepper to taste
Heat a small, non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
In a medium bowl combine all ingredients and mash them together with a potato masher or fork.
Spoon half of the mixture into the skillet and shape into a patty. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until sides are firm and slightly crispy.
Repeat with the second burger patty.
